Even in a world where computers and the internet have brought an immediacy to communications, real-time actual face-to-face encounters still have weight. In fact, it can be said that with the rise of web cams, video chatting, and video conference calls, the simple act of traveling and physically attending a meeting has become even more important to bring home a point.
Even with a financially strapped economy, there are more business trips being logged, and more and more people are traveling for both business and for pleasure. This brings the need for adequate travel insurance into focus. Travel might be safe, but it's not a bad idea to have additional term insurance coverage for the heavy traveler. In some cases, frequent travelers are at a disadvantage because their regular insurance does not cover certain trips. It has been proven time and again that air travel is a lot safer than riding an car, but insurance companies have not been successful by taking the research and implementing changes. Being conservative financial institutions, it is much better for the frequent flyer to get additional travel insurance, just in case.
